Consumer Health Data Privacy Policy

Effective: September 30, 2026 · Last updated: October 2, 2026

This policy covers consumer health data handled by the Mantle app for iPhone and Apple Watch, which is developed by Andrew Parrish, a sole proprietor based in Houston, Texas ("we", "us"). It is written for residents of Washington, Nevada and Connecticut, and applies to everyone.

1. Categories of consumer health data, and how they are used

  • Workout records: exercise names (for a dig site you build, the movement name you type), sets, repetitions, hold times, session duration and dates, program progress, baseline and Final Test results, and any safety note you write. Used to set your starting level, build and run your program, and show your progress.
  • Estimated active energy: a value Mantle calculates on iPhone for each session. Used only to save the session to Apple Health when you turn on Save to Apple Health.
  • Heart rate and active energy from Apple Watch: read while a session runs on the watch. Used to show your heart rate on screen and, when you turn on Save to Apple Health, to save the workout to Apple Health.

2. How the data is processed

This data is processed by the Mantle app on your iPhone and Apple Watch. It is stored on your devices, in your device backups, in your private iCloud database when iCloud sync is on (the default), and in Apple Health when Save to Apple Health is on. Heart rate and active energy read on Apple Watch are held only in the app's memory during the session. Mantle does not store them itself or send them to your iPhone. We do not operate a server that receives this data, and we do not have access to it.

3. Sources

  • You, through what you enter and do in Mantle.
  • Your Apple Watch sensors, through Apple Health, with the permission you give on Apple's permission screen.

4. Sharing

We do not sell consumer health data, and we have no affiliates. The only third party that receives consumer health data is Apple, and only at your direction, as follows:

  • Apple (iCloud): workout records, when iCloud sync is on, so your devices stay in step. You can turn it off in the Rig (Mantle's settings).
  • Apple (Apple Health): when Save to Apple Health is on, so the workout appears in Apple Health: workouts with exercise name, total repetitions and estimated active energy from iPhone, and workouts with heart rate and active energy from Apple Watch. If the watch cannot save a workout (for example, a session longer than the app's logging limit, or a failed save), your iPhone saves it instead with estimated active energy and no heart rate. Save to Apple Health is off unless you turn it on.
  • Apple (Game Center), Mantle 1.0.6 and later: only if you turn on the Game Center setting in the Rig (it is off unless you do) and are signed in to Game Center, achievement progress worked out from your workout records, such as how many sessions you have saved or how long your training streak has run. Only an achievement identifier and a percentage are sent, never the records themselves or any Apple Health data. You can turn it off in the Rig.

No third party collects consumer health data about you over time or across websites or online services through Mantle.

5. No sale

We do not sell consumer health data.

6. Your rights and how to use them

  • Access and confirm: view your data in Mantle and in the Health app. You can also email us to ask whether we hold any of your consumer health data. We do not receive it through the app, so our answer will normally be that we hold none, with instructions for the data on your devices.
  • Review and correct: review your records in Mantle and the Health app, and edit or delete Health entries in the Health app.
  • Delete: delete the Mantle app to remove its data from a device. Delete Mantle's iCloud data in your iPhone's iCloud storage settings where Apple lists Mantle. Delete Mantle workouts in the Health app. Or email us and we will explain each step.
  • Withdraw consent: turn off Save to Apple Health, iCloud sync or Game Center in the Rig, or change Mantle's access in Apple's Health settings.
  • Appeal: if we decline a request, reply to our answer with "Appeal" in the subject line and we will respond in writing. If you are not satisfied, you may contact the attorney general of your state.

Send requests to mantleapp@icloud.com.

7. Changes to this policy

We will post any change on this page with a new "Last updated" date. For a material change, we will also give notice through the app before the change takes effect, and we will ask for your consent before collecting new categories of consumer health data or using it for new purposes.
