Get stronger with
nothing but the floor.

One test sets your level, even if the number is one. Then three sessions a week for six weeks, and every program cites the research it is built on.

Most plans start where someone else is.

A plan written for someone else does not know your number. So it starts too hard or too easy, and you find out which in week two. Mantle asks for your number first, then builds six weeks from it.

Built so you keep showing up.

Rest is part of the plan.
  • Starts at your number.

One continuous set sets your level, even if that number is one. Then pick light, steady or full.

  • Needs only the floor.

Bodyweight in every session of every program, with no gear to buy. A towel is optional.

  • Paced for recovery.

Three sessions a week, and never more than three in five days on the built in programs, so nobody races ahead of their recovery.

  • Breaks erase nothing.

Miss two weeks and your week and day wait where you left them. Today offers a lighter grade when you come back.

  • On your wrist.

The Apple Watch app is free. Finished sessions save to Apple Health if you want them there.

Eighteen sessions from now
you take the same test again.
That second number
is the point.

Example push up numbers. Yours start wherever you start.

One test. Six weeks. One final test.

  1. The baseline test screen: 10 max reps sets the starting layer, Sediment.

    Take one test.

One continuous set, as many as you can with good form. That number sets your next six weeks.

  2. The session runner on a hollow hold: set 1 of 5, target 5 seconds.

    Train three times a week.

Each session has its sets, targets and rest built in. The runner counts and times. You do the work.

  3. The Ruby Trophy, a molten stone cup with a red gem, for finishing the six week push ups program.

    Take the final test.

Eighteen sessions later, the same test again, and a second number to set beside the first. Finish all six weeks and that program’s trophy is yours.

Example app screens. Targets and records vary.

The Bridgmanite Crucible relic, a dark green block of stacked crystal cubes.
Bridgmanite CrucibleA Deep Mantle relic. The most common mineral on Earth: so deep you never see it, so abundant it quietly runs the place.
What if I cannot do a single push up yet?

Your baseline test sets your starting level even if the number is one or three. Before Session 1 you also pick a grade: light, steady or full.

Do I need a bar, bands or dumbbells?

Never. Every built in program, and every program you build yourself, uses the floor and your bodyweight only.

What happens if I miss a week or two?

Nothing is erased, and your week and day never reset. After two weeks away, Today offers a lighter grade or a fresh baseline test if you want one.

Why never more than three sessions in five days?

Strength builds during the recovery between sessions. The built in programs plan three sessions a week and hold a fourth until five days have passed, so nobody races through six weeks in two.

What is free, exactly?

Three complete six week programs: push ups, squats and hollow hold, from the first test to the final one. The session runner, archive, streak, six relics, the Apple Watch app, Apple Health and iCloud sync are free too. There is no time limit.

What does the Subterranean Pass add?

You can build your own six week program from a bodyweight move and a goal. The other thirteen programs open, along with the Endless Dig after the final test and every relic. It is monthly, annual or lifetime, bought inside the app, and Mantle never takes away what you bought.

Do I need an account?

No. There is no Mantle account and no Mantle server. Your training syncs through your own private iCloud, and nothing is tracked.

Does it work on Apple Watch?

Yes, and the watch app is free. Run a session from your wrist and save finished sessions to Apple Health if you want to.

Are there ads?

No. There is no advertising in any tier, free or paid.

Which devices and countries does it support?

iPhone with iOS 18 or later, with Apple Watch optional. Mantle is on the App Store in the US and Canada.

Who is the rock?

Magnus. He is 4.5 billion years old and the star of The Oldest Beginner, where he does the same six weeks in the same app. Prefer it plain? Minimalist Mode drops the geology. Same training, fewer rocks.

Start with one test.

One set today decides your next six weeks. Push ups, squats and hollow hold are free, start to finish.
